Weight control website heads-up

It’s my pleasure this week in my eMoms Blogjolt to talk about Katiebird’s blog Eat4Today.
Katiebird is a regular reader and commentator on many, many forums (I think she even pops in here from time to time ;)) and is very positive and encouraging. Her site takes this one step further, and helps facilitate weight loss or control for others by journaling her own progress. If you would like help in this area, check her out!

I think (?) I’ve mentioned before about my own…history…with food journaling. Once I get the courage together to go dig out my old diaries, circa 1997*, I’ll scan them in and we’ll all give ourselves a belated Halloween’s scare, because they are very scary. Let’s all remember, and I can’t stress enough, that that’s a different thought process and place of negativity than katiebird’s raison d'etre. I can't help but ponder on how interesting it is when something that can be so helpful is turned into something less so. But that can wait for another post.

It's going to be a stinker of a hot day in Melbourne today (forecast 36 degrees, which means it will be 38 degrees where I live. Knocking on 100 degrees farenheit for our foreign friends). Ech.

Hi Karen, Thank you very, very much for the wonderful BlogJolt! I've met the most wonderful people through this group Wendy put together and you're one of the best. I do visit here regularly -- but I don't always comment (I'll try to do better, especially now that I've got to live up to a reputation!)

You are a much braver woman than I am if you are even considering looking at those journals again. I threw away all journals and essays from my dark-period many years ago. And I don't miss them at all.

There was a time when I just couldn't see a creative/intelligent future for myself (although somehow I felt the need to write about it...you'd think that would have been a clue). I figure those things were written by The-Old-Me, a relative of sorts, but she's not important at all.

On the temperature thing: Is this still Spring for you? How hot does it get in the summer? I'm in Kansas and we get pretty wild temperature swings from -28.8 (winter) to 45.5 (summer) degrees Celsius. But spring and fall are usually very, very nice. I remember it getting up to 32.2 in April just once -- and that was a miserable year all around. (I hope I got all the temperatures translated correctly!)

Karen, Thank you so much. I love your blog -- it's great. And so are you.

Hey there, I thought I'd see you ;)

You're right, there are Old-Me's and New-Me's. The New-Me shouldn't feel so frightened I guess...until I remember well that IS me (partially)and I have all the memories to back it up.

Spring, yes. But we're having freakish weather at the moment (all the time, all non-Victorians would say, but it's not that bad). Last week it was snowing outside the city; this week we're hitting 40 degrees. Crazy. Not quite down to your minuses tough!

Thanks Katiebird :)
